Motomachi street, Yokohama

Motomachi is one the most famous places in Yokohama. Motomachi street is visited a lot by foreigners. One of the reasons why is that there are a lot of shops on the street. Every sunday the street is closed so the people can walk in the middle of the street during the day. The street is full of restaurants, cafe shops and boutiques. I would say that Motomachi is more of a girl place, it’s mostly a shopping street. But would probably hang out around Starbucks and restaurants.

Very close to Motomachi street you have the Chinatown. Chinatown is also a great place to visit. It is also a shopping place but there are tones of restaurants. Chinatown is four streets big. Most of the restaurants there are chinese restaurants. One of my favorites. Another thing I noticed about chinatown is that there are a lot of Indian shops. The only problem is that I got lost many times in Chinatown.

If you go back to Motomachi station, you will notice a hill. And if you go up that hill you will see my school Yokohama International School. Right in front of the school there is a park. The park is called Harbor-View and from this park you have a really nice view on the city.

All of that is around Motomachi street.

Summer holiday event

During my summer, I went back to my home-country and my friend Laurent came over in Montreal to visit Mc Gill university with his sister. We spent a day with his family and visited Montreal.

We went around Montreal and brought his family on this mountain Mont Royal and from there you could see the city, downtown and the mountains in the background. Later on, around lunch time we went to one of the best Bagel-shop I know and bought around twenty bagels and we ate them in a park.

After we finish eating, we went in the Vieux Montreal and walked around to visit the place and we went around the shops. In the evening we walked around Vieux Montreal and there was these festivities because it was the 400th anniversary of the province of Quebec. It was kind of special because all the bars and the restaurants were open and you don’t really see that often. It was very special.

And for dinner we went to a really good restaurant where they had very good food. It was special to see my friend and classmate from Japan in my home-town, but overall it was a good day and I enjoyed it.
